Call a probe into 1990

The actions of those involved with the violence that took place on the July 27, 1990, caused death and destruction in our beloved country it was a sad day in our country’s history.

My good friend Assistant Superintendent Roger George was one of the fatalities on that memorable day.

It would be a travesty if the country never finds out what caused his death and the death of so many others.

It is only a fallacy for the present Government to observe its anniversary every year, yet the people remain in the dark about what happened on that eventful day.

I believe that there are a lot of skeletons in a lot of closets that would be exposed if an investigation were carried out. The present PM should honor the call of the people and call an immediate probe, and lay to rest any allegations of a connection between the Jamaat and other parties who might have benefitted by such actions. It’s been 16 years now and it’s about time we know the real facts of what caused the coup attempt. Mr PM the ball is in your court, it’s time to hit it back.
