Sing a joyful song on CLICO Day

Last race day I heard the grass was too high on the turf course, so it seems it was never prepared for racing.

Other times you have one “jockey” and one “official” deciding on such a critical issue. That one jockey can have some horses with great chances on the dirt so his mind can be made up from early.

The Arima Race Club needs to clean up this mess before this column gets on their case.

Now on to the day’s card where I expect Sara’s Song to romp home in the opener. This filly has shown all her form at the minimum trip but her dam Woodbine was a good stayer and also a late developer.

Eye Candy should follow her home. Winnie should take the second without much fuss.

These first two races consist of the worst horses in training, but you always get the best results from them, or so the saying goes.

I will continue to back Bold Mover because I think he has a little class in him. He has had his problems and ran no race in the Guineas, so I am expecting a big run sometime soon.
