Join the lime at ‘triniteen’

The idea for the website came in September last year as Diaz, the creative director and John, the senior editor, decided to do something positive for the youth and young adults of Trinidad and Tobago.

Diaz, who currently attends ROYTEC, said that she got interested in website building after taking a course. It was Diaz’s mother who came up with the name “triniteen” for the website. Diaz hopes that “teens would become educated and informed” by all that the website has to offer and that they would be “guided to make the right choices.”

John, who is also a student, said that certain features of the website are updated everyday, among these the horoscope section. However, the majority of the other features and articles on the website are updated every month.

“We work really hard and Kandice’s mother has been our biggest supporter. She has been sending out proposals to various companies who may be interested in advertising on our website. The response, however, has been quite slow because it (getting results) is not as easy as it seems.”

The website is intended to be informative and it aims to create an environment where teens can learn, ask questions and share their opinions. Teens all across TT can interact via the live chat rooms as well as access information on health, beauty, sports, career, finance, fashion, news and entertainment.

The mission of triniteen.com is to capture the young minds of TT’s future leaders in a positive way.

With the launch, they expect to expand the triniteen.com family and recruit teen models for the site and promoters.

Promotion for this website is currently underway as Diaz and John are attending various events around the country and to give out T-shirts and conduct interviews with teenagers that will be posted on the website.

Their biggest means of promotion, however, has been word of mouth.

Their aim is to appear on Synergy TV, the popular local channel, sometime in August to promote the website and gain support.
