10 months of torture and humiliation

We would like to know Mr Panday, what in fact is your game plan? You proposed Winston Dookeran for the total leadership of the party witnessed by the 12 members of the executive and leadership of the party, inclusive of Mr Warner. But you went back on your word. You split the leadership by holding onto the leadership of the opposition.

This was in denial of your previous position and you therefore set the stage for disaster. In all democracies the world over the position of the political leadership and leadership in Parliament go hand in hand, being schooled in London are you telling us that you are going to defy this custom?

Now sir, you are saying that you want to have unity talks with Mr Dookeran.

Are you saying this because Mr Dookeran is weak and you want to rescue him, or, are you saying this because he has become stronger and has run away with the heartland of the UNC, while you and your executive concentrated your guns on him giving all kind of reasons that because he was not boisterous and confrontational as you were he could not be a good leader. Sir, it is only empty barrels that make the most noise.
