The passion of Orange Sky

The band will be among several acts to perform at Ambrosia Concerts’ Rock4Life all-day music festival on September 2. The concert will feature the Scorpions, Vixen, L.A. Guns and 15 of our local “Trini Rock” bands.

Orange Sky is a roots rock band and the influence of Caribbean music is deeply entrenched within its distinctive style.

The Nu-Rock act Orange Sky rose to major statues by supporting the likes of visiting artistes such as Skid Row, Hatebreed, Six Feet Under and Ludricris. Style wise the band blended modern edged metal and rock with reggae infusions. So popular throughout the Caribbean is the band that the Ministry of Tourism officially named the band members as International Ambassadors.

In mid 2005 the band acted as support to Adema for West Coast dates in the USA. Orange Sky, promoting the Granite Records US debut album Upstairs, featuring a cover version of Cat Stevens’ ‘Peace Train’, and DVD Live In Trinidad, scored a valuable coup by grabbing the opening slot to the Autumn 2005 Yngwie and Malmsteen North American tour.

The members of Orange Sky include vocalist/lead guitarist/song writer Nigel Rojas, rhythm guitarist Adam Murray, bass guitarist Nicholas Rojas and drummer Obasi Springer. Nigel and Nicholas are brothers.

Ambrosia promises that this upcoming concert will be an opportunity for Trinidad and Tobago to experience and enjoy the talent of authentic international bands as well as offering a showcase for local talent across the globe. The day-long rock festival will commence at midday and proceed until two am.
