3 murders in 24 hours
Police reports revealed that about 7.45 pm on Thursday, labourer Acawu Cornwall, 29, was on duty at Barana Fisheries at Sea Lots when he had an argument with a man.
Reports revealed the man stabbed Cornwall once in the chest.
The body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre. A 29-year-old man was detained in connection with this murder.
About 10.45 am yesterday, Ian Brown, 41, a contractor of St Barbs, Laventille, was working at a house at Chocolate Alley in Gonzales, Belmont when he was confronted by a gunman who shot him once in the chest.
Brown who was also an employee of the Port Authority, got married two weeks ago.
Police sources said that about the same time Brown was killed, David Joseph, 45, of Ramkissoon Trace in St Augustine was shot several times in the chest at his home by a gunman.
Police investigators believe the Joseph killing may have been a case of mistaken identity.
