Chaguanas man on murder charge

Wayne Rattansingh appeared yesterday before Magistrate Nanette Forde-John charged with the murder of Calvin Williams.

Williams lived on the streets of Chaguanas and according to the charge read by the magistrate, Rattansingh is alleged to have beaten the vagrant to death.

The incident occurred at Railway Road, Chaguanas. When Rattansingh appeared in court yesterday, the charge was not read to the accused man.

The accused wore a shirt which was soiled and a pair of slippers on his feet. He had bruises on his face and neck. Rattansingh was remanded in custody to re-appear on September 8.
