Defence rests in trafficking trial
Harry Seepersad Ramlogan, 42, of O’Brien Road, Biche, who had been in the witness box for the past three days, is on trial before Justice Anthony Carmona charged with possession of 18 kilos of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Ramlogan is denying allegations by the State that he was held by police while carrying the bundle of drugs along a track leading to the Biche forest on August 8, 2003.
Prosecutors Jennifer Martin and Aden Stroude had closed the State’s case on Monday.
Both Stroude and defence attorney Michelle Solomon delivered closing addresses to the jury yesterday, and the judge is expected to give a summation of the case tomorrow.
