Panyard Sensations begins Sunday

The collaborative production between Pan Trinbago and the Tourism Development Company (TDC) will once give pan aficionados another opportunity to hear their favourite steelbands in their own community and environment.

Pan Trinbago/TDC Panyard Sensations create an alternative for steelbands outside the main Carnival period and to provide a cash generating opportunity for the selected bands.

These concert limes featuring eight bands will run for five consecutive weekends starting on Sunday until September 30. All shows begin at 8 pm except on Sundays when the starting time is 6 pm.

This year’s Sensations series has as its theme “De Oil Drum Calling” features Solo Pan Knights, Excellent Stores Silver Stars, Southern Marines Steelband Foundation, Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille, Curepe Scherzando, Carib Dixieland, TTEC East Side New Dimension and Couva Joylanders.

As in past Sensations, steel orchestras will host guest artistes in what has become nights of musical delights. Admission to each of these events is $25.

v Friday September 29 - Excellent Stores Silver Stars- Tragarete Road, Newtown, Port of Spain

v Saturday September 30 - Solo Pan Knights, Eastern Main Road, Barataria
