Exciting finish to Mastana

In the end the judges gave the most points to singer/musician Neval Chatelal, 19, of Carapic-haima. Neval thrilled the audience with the song, ‘Madhuban Meh Radika Naache Rey’, which was originally sung by Mohammed Rafi. Culture Minister Joan Yuille Williams was on hand to award the top prize of $50,000 to Neval.

Neval who was a former Chil-dren of Mastana finalist, placed first in both the preliminary judging and the semi-final programme.

Oddissi dancer Sneha Rao Adidam danced to second position winning $25,000 while another prolific dancer Kishana Bhimull placed third, taking home $15,000.

Popular saxophonist Narindra Maharaj won $10,000 for placing fourth. Singer, Savita Singh placed fifth winning $9,000 and Ravi Jagroop placed sixth winning $8,000. Dancers Ashwanny Ramlochan and Shahid Mohammed took the seventh prize of $7,000. Annie Dookie placed eighth and got $6,800. Parasram Colai and Rajiv Koolanjan placed nineth and tenth respectively winning $6,500 and $6,000. The lovely Reshma Ramsaran was crowned Miss Naturally Fair winning $10,000.
