Shottas win big in South East

Led by veteran forward Ludwell Richardson’s game-high 46 points and eight assists, Shottas made clear to others their intention in the competition.

The physically bigger and more experienced kit used their superior defence to press Rio Warriors and force turnovers and then converted them into easy points.

Richardson was ably supported by guard Bernard Hickson, who scored 24 points. Hasan Mohammed and Kareem Parris also scored 16 and 18 points respectively.

For Rio Warriors, who have lost three straight matches , Under-16 player Teegan Farley netted 21 points and collected seven rebounds, while small forward Jody Roberts had 18 points.

On Monday Libertville Villers handed bptt OPU Stingers a sound beating defeating them 83-32.

Led by 22 points from prolific scorer Kenno Roberts, Libertville led for the entire match. Sharp shooting, together with half-court press defence was responsible for the large margin of victory.

Stingers wasted numerous chances to pull the score closer, but their shooting failed them.

Roberts also collected ten rebounds and was well-supported by 17 and 12 points from Dexter Castillo and Anthony Lares respectively.

For the losers Elvis St Adge and Kester Alexis both had eight points.

Libertville kep their record perfect with a hard fourth victory over early pace setters New Grant Pacers defeating them 49-39.

The low-scoring affair saw both sides shooting poorly for the entire match. The match was close for three periods, but Villers pulled away in the fourth stanza to seal the win.

For Libertville six-foot six-inch forward Kenno Roberts had 17 points and handed out five assists, while Rayson Roberts and Anthony Lares scored ten and eight respectively.

For Pacers centre Kern Mohammed scored 11, while Thrydon Simmons had 9.

Results — Shottas 110 ( Ludwell Richardson 46, Bernard Hickson 24,Kareem Parris 18) vs Rio Warriors 64 (Teegan Farley 21, Jody Roberts 18).
