‘Rabbit’ off to world darts tournament

Winner of the tournament will collect a first prize of ?100,000. Dyal qualified to compete against the top dart players in the world by winning the Carib Beer Caribbean and South American Masters Championships held in Barbados in July.

The Caribbean Darts Championships and the America’s Cup were also held at this time. “Rabbit”, as captain, led the TT team to victory in the team tournament in the Caribbean and third in the America’s Cup.

The national team is now preparing to take part in the Darts World Cup to be held in the Netherlands next year as well as the hosting of the Caribbean and America’s tournaments in 2008. The Trinidad and Tobago Darts Association, in conjunction with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, is also working on plans to introduce the sport of darts into various communities.
