Obie Trice ‘live’ on Direc TV
Available to all Direc TV subscribers on channel 999, CD USA this week delivers a live rap performance by Obie Trice. Rob Zombie and Editors also grace the CD USA stage today, and actress Rachel Leigh Cook also makes a guest appearance.
Having been compared to the dark, dramatic sound of contemporary bands like Interpol, the Editors’ hit single “Munich” made them darlings in the UK. Their album The Back Room climbed the charts in a way albums rarely do and delivered a platinum disc for the band. The hype caught on in the US with a week of buzz gigs, showing that their hard work, dedication and respect of their fan base earned them their place.
A combination of drive, passion and talent has proven to be a winning prescription for Obie Trice. Performing “Jamaican Girl” from his album Second Round’s On Me, Obie displays his lyrical maturity. The song also features Brick and Lace, the Rhythm and Blues duo of sisters Nyanda and Nailah Thourborne.
Half rock, half electronic pop, Stefy crafted an accessible but slightly edgy sound that was apparent on their first single, “Chelsea,” which appeared on the John Tucker Must Die soundtrack. She brings her feisty, foxy style to the CD USA performance this week.
Rounding off the performances this week is New Found Glory with the melodic rock sound of “It’s Not Your Fault”. Under The Influence of Giants perform alongside metal superstar Rob Zombie creating a smooth combination of rock and pop with a funk-edged groove.
Rachel Leigh Cook shot to fame after her role in romantic comedy She’s All That. Since then she has appeared in a number of films.
