Synergy model season starts

This series has brought to light many new talented and most requested models in the industry, aside from former and present winners: Kai Leggard, Anya Nathaniel and Kevin Aqui other talents include such names as Latoya Woods, Russell Wilkinson, Lisa-Marie Brown, June Lightbourne, Sasiya Albert, Soowan Bramble, Jeffrey Charles and Troy See Tai to name a few.

Although they didn’t claim the glory of winning the competition, they still benefitted richly from the experience; for they can all be seen in magazines, billboards, newspapers and if not most runway shows.

Synergy TV Super Model’s aim has always been to shape, mould and develop young, aspiring models raising them to be well represented within the local and international modelling market. Last year’s winner Anya Nathaniel has been enjoying success doing show rooms for top international designers such as Chanel, Guess, and Baby Phat. Anya is now a registered member of the CLICK modelling agency in New York and is frequently in and out of the country taking up job opportunities including showrooms and photo shoots with top international photographers.

This season promises to bring no less but more; this new cast is a group consisting of 16 young men and 15 young women who have been exposed to some of the best in the local fashion industry. This year the panel of judges include: radio personality “and sometimes deemed the mean judge Paul Richards, queenmaker Peter Elias, jewellery designer Jeneile Mc Carthy-Sinanan and internationally acclaimed photographer Wyatt Gallery. Models also got the opportunity to work with facilitators such as Sandra Hordatt the official makeup artiste of the season as well as Ashvin Bally head hair stylist this season. This year things were done a bit differently. Shooting of this show started since the month of April and has continued ever since and at this point filming is in its last stages; during which time models have been taken to exotic locations for photo and video shoots; including a weekend trip to sister isle Tobago where everybody became very familiar with everybody, tempers flared, and some persons got a little closer than before.

Some night outings showed that these models certainly are not shy; participation in some very big band launches and fashion shows; up close and personal views of the costumes and new styles for this season along with all the behind the scenes dramas.

This year in particular is definitely a year for tears as a lot of these models couldn’t handle some of the pressures that go with the criteria of being a super model.

This year’s production team also headed by Paul Richards has stamped their seal of approval that this year will be an entertaining and dramatic one that will have viewers talking and wanting more.

Last year’s version of Synergy TV Super Model cupped this year’s Caribvision’s People’s Choice Award for Best Local Fashion Television Programme.
