Drainage problem in Curepe

THE EDITOR: The following letter is to the Chief Executive Officer, Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation, Centenary Street, Tunapuna regarding: A Clogged drain at #1 Riverside Road, Curepe. Dear sir, your responding letter of August 16, 2005 to my letter of complaint of July 18, 2005 indicated that the matter captioned above would be investigated by the Councillor for the area. To this date nothing was done.

In the mean time, foul smelling, dark coloured water covered with thick moss has now backed up along the drain and is about to overflow into the ground floor apartment where a family with an infant child resides. The health of this family is seriously threatened. The entry point from this drain to the public drain is too small to accommodate the volume of water flowing through and urgently needs to be opened up and widened.  I now thank you for your urgent attention and immediate action.
