A local remedy for psoriasis?
THE EDITOR: I wish to draw the public’s attention to a skin condition known as psoriasis. This frustrating condition has most of us sufferers wanting a quick remedy, and almost everyone claims to have a cure to this disease. I would like to know which institution is seeking our interests in what we put on our skin to cure this condition and at what price. At a South Quay pharmacy counter recently, a clerk brought out a 2 oz jar of cream and like a ‘breeze’ just whispered "three hundred dollars", as though $300 means nothing to me. When I asked her for a small amount for less money she was blue in the face. She expected me to pull out three blue notes without thinking twice — as though I have no utility bills or groceries to buy. She also said, "we have a bigger jar for $500." I would appreciate it very much if someone from the health ministry or pharmacy board could shed some light on this skin condition and if there is any local remedy worth $300/$500. I stand corrected if for some reason I am wrong in addressing this issue. C LORICK Williamsville
