World Cup spending fever

THE EDITOR: Mr Jack Warner is already in Germany for the World Cup draw. I can understand why the TTFF president Mr Oliver Camps should attend. The draw will be televised live all over the world. So why is it necessary for the general secretary, the team manager, the assistant manager, the media officer, the cultural liaison officer, the security officer and a THA official to go to Germany to witness the draw?

Since the Government plans to use taxpayers’ money to help fund the effort, the public has a right to know why these persons are going and what it is costing us. I am also sure that all those citizens (corporate or otherwise) who contribute would like to know that their money is well spent.

Mr Camps stated that our preparation for the tournament will be very expensive. I am beginning to see why.
