What’s up with the weather?

THE EDITOR: The unusual rainy weather we have been experiencing at this time of the year is very strange for the month of December.

December is the end of the rainy season, the rains are not as heavy and as prolonged, weather patterns are certainly changing throughout the Caribbean, and the world.

Erosions, mudslides, floodings are not as common around this time of the year, that kind of weather is usually associated with the rainy season.

When such unusual weather occurs it usually puts a damper on outdoor activities, especially now at this busy Christmas season, when citizens are trying to cash in on early bargains for the season, even though Trinis tend to be last minute people, last minute shoppers December is a month associated with hot sunny conditions, light rains around noon, and cool evenings. With such unusual weather conditions, what can we expect as the year closes, and the beginning of the dry season?

Earlier in the year 2005, heavy rains fell in January, almost every day.

What are weather forecasters/meteorologists predicting for the next 12 months, will we see an active rainy/hurricane season, or will we experience drought for the first half of the year.

Whatever the weather patterns, citizens will just have to adjust where necessary, by taking the necessary precautions for both seasons.
