Jack took us across stormy waters

THE EDITOR: I can remember him begging corporate Trinidad to invest in the football team. Only Carib and TSTT responded and they will have the consequent reward of having their names on the roll of honour in Germany. But what about the others who are now jumping on the bandwagon, some crying sour grapes and accusing Jack Warner of a litany of sins?

Where were you when hope all but disappeared and the only man brave and committed enough to put out his money was Jack Warner? Jack alone took the risk. Not even the government can lay any claim to being the benefactor of our team. Jack shouldered this team like Atlas. He took us across the stormy waters of a World Cup qualification campaign like St Christopher bearing the blessed child. I say he is right to reap his just rewards.
