Don’t worry about sugar, just fete

THE EDITOR: Minister John Rahael and the PNM chopped down the sugar cane industry. Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday didn’t do anything to stop it, although he claims that he was the champion for sugar workers for decades. Now Minister Jarette Narine and the PNM plan to close down the Carlsen Field Rice Mill even as our food import bill continues to skyrocket. All developed countries know that it is prudent to be self-sufficient in food. If there is a world food shortage, we will have nothing to worry about, if we can adapt to digest oil and gas. Anyhow, let’s not worry about these matters. It’ carnival time again, fete for so.
