Disrespect leads to lawlessness

Once again, lies are being published about a Prophet of God Almighty; this time it is Jesus (peace and blessings of God be upon him). Some months ago, it was Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.); when lies about him were published in cartoons in Europe. These falsehoods against prophets of Almighty God, Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe, are perpetrated by sceptics in religion and God.

They fail to understand that by generating disrespect and ridicule of personalities who are venerated and held in high esteem, they are contributing to the general disrespect and intolerance in the society.

This leads to disrespect for authority and for the law. When these same sceptics become victims of lawless individuals, such as hate mongers and criminals, they would complain bitterly.

Muslims are taught by revelation from the Almighty God (Allah) that prophets were sent by Him to every people in the world. We respect and honour every true prophet.

There ought to be a law against the public expression of disrespect and ridicule of religious personalities whether living or dead; just as there is a law against the defamation of the character of any individual.
