Memory Bank redefines strate

Lindahl Ghany, one of the managing directors of Memory Bank Computers (MBC), was speaking at a reception where the company unvield its new corporate logo at 51 Degrees Lounge, Port-of-Spain.

The company, which was founded in 1984, has decided to re-brand to keep with the changing market environment. The new logo was unveiled at the cocktail launch by Gerard Pemberton, DFL Caribbean Holdings Limited Group Managing Director, who has been a longtime customer of MBC and Richard Rooplal, service personnel at MBC.

The colour and design of the new logo , he said, reflects the vibrant and talented staff the company possesses and the company’s competency in this modern world.

Annissa Ghany, the other half of the managing directing duo, said the concept for the new emblem was six months in the making she said.

“We are there to help the customer make smarter and more workable solutions with the ideas that they have,” she explained.

She added that the colours chosen also reflects company policy. The letters MBC are done in orange and green. Orange, she said, signifies the strength of the company which was garnered over the past 22 years. It represents the ideals the company are holding steadfast from its past, she said.

The lighter colour green, Ghany explained, depicts the company’s future and the ideas of the younger staff which would take the company in a new, innovative direction.

Ghany noted that the computer hardware and service arena has changed immensely over the years that MBC has covered. The most noticeable change, he quipped, was the size of computer systems.

“Gone are the days when the computer hard drives were almost knee height and when video cards and such had to be installed by hand,” he said.

He added that the cost of one of those systems was in the ball park of $23,000, a large sum now as it was then, when one considers the inflation of the TT dollar.

MBC said it is in the business of Information Systems Technology (IST) where their portfolio covers service support, sales, rentals and supplies.

The company supplies systems and services to other businesses in the local public and private sector and to foreign embassies to Trinidad and Tobago. The company which has two branches, the head office in Port-of-Spain and one in San Fernando, is an authorised IBM advanced products dealer.

The company is currently the authorised products dealers for Neoware, Thinclients and Lenovo PCs, laptops and associated accessories.

MBC also has other business alliances, including major ones with Microsoft Certified Partner-ship, Hewlett Packard and Lexmark Service Centre. The company has also been accredited with international awards for their performances on the local market from IBM Canada Ltd and Blue Ribbon Dealer Status in recognition of superior customer support, technical quality and sales.

The company offers a wide range of products in the computer hardware field including PCs, servers, laptops, printers, scanners, Uninterrupted Power Sup-plies (UPS), networking equipment , digital cameras and projectors and other peripheral hardware.
