In a statement, Caribbean Airlines said it has increased the frequency of service to several destinations including Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia and Jamaica, both in Kingston and Montego Bay. The airline also said it is operating special services to St Kitts, Bermuda and Grenada. The seating capacity of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft being used is 154 and an additional 2,500 seats will be offered. Caribbean Airlines corporate affairs director Dionne Ligoure said the airline has tailored its schedule to meet the increased demand for air travel at this time. Caribbean Airlines was launched on January 1, following the closure of its predecessor, BWIA.
