More flights for Tobago Jazz

In a statement yesterday, Caribbean Airlines corporate affairs manager Dionne Ligoure said the airline will be operating several 737-800 jet services between Trinidad and Tobago from April 27 to April 29.

A 737-800 aircraft has a seating capacity of 154 persons.

“Caribbean Airlines is customer driven and we have tailored our schedule to meet the increased demand for air travel for the Tobago Jazz Festival.

“We are monitoring demand very closely and will add flights based on this,” she said.

The annual festival brings together a host of international, regional and local acts.

Among those expected to perform at this year’s festival are Sir Elton John, LL Cool J, Diana Ross and TT’s Machel Montano. Meanwhile, Airports Authority officials said ongoing repaving work on the runway at the Piarco International Airport has not resulted in any flight delays.

The airport is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am daily to facilitate repaving work.

Officials said all airlines were made aware of plans for the repaving, since last October.
