Karateka elevated to regional post

This took place at CAAKO’s inaugural meeting last month in Orlando, Florida.

Sensei Charles began his karate career more than 25 years ago in Trinidad as a member of Shotokan Karate of Trinidad and Tobago (SKOTT) under Sensei Frank Monroe of SKOTT-Pt Fortin. After migrating to the US he continued his training in shotokan and other martial arts.

His training is now under the expert guidance of Sensei Peter Spence. He also runs his own dojos in Deltona, Florida— Black Tiger Shotokan Sensei Charles is a charter member of the Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation (TTKF) and holds the rank of Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt).

During his martial arts life Sensei Charles has participated in numerous technical seminars, workshops, and examinations to advance and enhance his skill and expertise.

The TTKF wishes Sensei Charles all success in this new and very challenging position with the international karate community. Sensei Charles will be attending the World Union Karate-Do Organisations (WUKO) referee and coaching exams in Brazil next year.
