Two men face murder charge

Investigators received instructions from acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Carla Browne-Antoine late yesterday to charge the suspects who are 25 and 37 years of age and who are also brothers-in-law.

Baboolal was found dead on May 29 outside his businessplace Mission Road General Supplies Ltd Hardware located off Mission Road in Freeport.

The suspects were charged following intense investigations from Homicide Bureau detectives ASP Johnny Abraham, Sgt Thecla May Harris and Cpl Glenda Corbett-Davis. Insp Stanley Ramdeen and PC Sunil Ramoutar also assisted.

Detectives raided a house in the Freeport area last Saturday where they arrested the suspects and also seized close to $200,000 in cash, believed to have been taken from Baboolal when he was killed.

Two vehicles and computer equipment were also seized and are believed to have been purchased from the proceeds of the crime. Two women, a 15-year-old from Waterloo and a 20-year-old, who were arrested during the exercise, were subsequently released.
