Not tantie’s money
Ministers usually call in the media to brag whenever they are giving assistance to the needy, why is it different in this instance? This is not anybody’s tantie or pappy money. This is public money. And no one should be allowed to get away by throwing their weight around in order to hide the glaring perception concluded.
So many persons publicly state they have never received any of these grants while records show indeed they had. Can there be so many typographical errors? These are the individuals who should feel embarrassed and unfairly treated. This has only opened a can of worms as there were also carnival grants given out.
I want to say to Mr Manning that he is not the prime minister of the PNM but all of Trinidad and Tobago, and no matter how great the international community thinks of him and the summits, he should be concerned how a great portion of our citizens think of him, and correct an otherwise unpleasant perception.
