No assurance for Tobago

London presented the THA’s 2011 Budget on Monday.

Speaking at yesterday’s post-Cabinet news conference, Dookeran said the THA’s budget proposals will be considered along with all other proposals being advanced in the formulation of the 2011 Budget which will be presented in Parliament in either August, or September.

“With respect to the THA, we will consider those proposals in the context of our new exercise which obviously will not be ready until budget time later this year,” Dookeran said. “We have started the process of budget preparation. We have invited all of the relevant entities, including the ministries to submit their proposals. This is being done at the moment.

“We will shortly have some public interactive sessions with the interests groups and individuals, to seek their input into the process.”

Dookeran’s comments came in the wake of a recent verbal exchange between Health Minister Therese Baptiste-Cornelis and THA Health Secretary, Alfred Pilgrim, when the minister paid a surprise visit to the Scarborough Hospital project.
