A giant among men

And a State Funeral was how the country bade him farewell yesterday, culminating in the coffin bearing Sir Ellis’ earthly remains being taken through throngs of people who lined specific streets in Port-of-Spain on a gun-carriage escorted by military men on a slow march towards his final resting place, Lapeyrouse Cemetery. Newsday photographers were out in full force to cover the historic event as the nation bade a final farewell to one of our heroes.
