UK Women’s Club says farewell to Jenkinsons

The function was well attended by distinguished members of the UK Women’s Club who enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and were treated to a wonderful array of cocktail delights which flowed throughout the evening.

Mrs Jenkinson, who is also the Patron of the UK Women’s Club, shared, that on her arrival four years ago she found it a bit daunting, as she did not know what exactly the role of Patron entailed. She added, though, any concerns she had melted away when she attended her first UKWC meeting at the Cascadia.

Mrs Jenkinson said she encountered a warmth and a real sense of commitment from the members who gave her a lovely welcome and helped her settle into that meeting and many more throughout her time in the country.

She also expressed how very proud the High Commissioner and she, herself were to host two events. She also reflected on the delight they had in attending the St George’s Day (England’s national holiday) celebration, especially as it was the first time a British High Commissioner had been able to attend.

Maire Jenkinson said Trinidad and Tobago will always be remembered with great fondness, made all the better for having been able to get to know the members of the UK Women’s Club, a group dedicated to friendship and charitable work.
