Soowan wants to be Best Model of the Universe

Local model Soowan Bramble, who graced the cover of SHE Magazine is now heading for Panama for the Best Model of the Universe Pageant from April 9 to 11.

Soowan was specially selected by the pageant organisers of Oneness Entertainment TT for this competition. Producer and franchise director, Vanessa Sahatoo-Manoo says Soowan is perfect choice for this particular show since she was has been on the Caribbean runway for sometime now. Soowan has been modelling for TT-based international fashion designer Anya Ayoung Chee who won Project Runway 2011.

Sahatoo-Manoo said the Best Model of the Universe Pageant is highly acclaimed and is supported by the Embassy of Panama in Venezuela.

“This pageant will lead up to the global launch to the Golden Catwalk International Awards which will feature modelling agencies and designers from Los Angeles and Europe,” she said.

Soowan will be competing in national costume, swimwear, evening gown, talent and pre-judging. The local beauty is excited about this contest. “I am looking forward in walking the runway with models of the other countries,” she said.

Sahatoo-Manoo was responsible for sending delegates to represent TT at various international contest including Renee Bhagwandeen who participated in Miss International Woman of Canada in 2011 and Sheriza Ali who was chosen as the new face of the Angeli Foundation of the UK and India.

On this note Soowan said she will be working alongside the pageant company to ensure that she represents her country with the same exuberance, intellect and style as her “Miss Oneness” sisters.

Soowan won the 2012 Campari Poster Girl contest. This search started in 2009 with the assistance of JEM Music Group’s Joy Mendoza, with Campari searching throughout Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and St Lucia to find the perfect face to represent their infusion of herbs, aromatic plants, fruits and alcohol. In the end Campari choose Soowan as “the face.”
