Funeral for cyclist Grant today

The body of the 42-year-old will be subsequently cremated at the St James Crematorium.

Grant was doing road training with aspiring cyclist Rosanna Abraham on Saturday morning along the Audrey Jeffers Highway when a vehicle collided with the pair. He died moments later at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

A five-time national sprint champion during the 1990s, Grant took up coaching upon his retirement in the early 2000s where he distinguished himself with the Bike Smith Cycling Club, and also served as coach of the national youth team in 2013.

Grant, who was employed with the Sagicor Insurance Group at the time of his death, leaves to mourn his fianc? Naomi Lushington, his siblings Helen, Julie and Christian, and his parents Winston and Virginia.
