Cops probe murder in Golconda

Police said the victim was found lying on the road with a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. According to a police report, at about 11.20 pm on Wednesday, police responded to a report of gunshots fire near Cemetery Street in Rambert Village, Golconda.

On arrival, they found Waldron’s body on the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer (DMO). His body was ordered removed to the mortuary of the San Fernando General Hospital to be later transferred to the Forensic Science Centre, St James where an autopsy was expected to be performed yesterday.

The murder scene was visited by ASP Mohammed, Insp Don Gajadhar, PCs Huggins and Williams along with officers of the Homicide Division and Southern Division Task Force. Investigations are continuing.
