Price hikes in bread but low quality hops
THE EDITOR: I have been reading a lot of yapping lately from people on both sides of the bread debate. Bakery owners trying to justify price increases, union people calling for bread boycotts. I eat yam instead, for two reasons. One is because Father Manning told me to. Second, is that I have seriously damaged myself eating Trini bread. The quality of bread seems to decrease every year, even with price hikes. Just last month I treated myself to a hops that looked like a motorbike helmet.
As soon as I rest my teeth on the crust, the entire structure caved in on me and I hit my head on the plate, almost breaking my neck. I still have bread crumbs in my hair, eyes nose and ears. I asked the woman if they used a bicycle pump to blow up a piece of dough the size of a dinner mint to make the hops. The so-called long bread is a next joke. I am positive they use a cotton candy machine and not an oven to make it. This is nonsense! What is this country coming to? We going to dead!
