Sounding like head of crime syndicate

THE EDITOR: There is an interesting combination of the religious right and the ultra conservatives within the American Republican Party. At first, the world was treated to an outburst from the city-slicking tele-evangelist and one-time presidential candidate Pat Robertson. He really sounded like the head of a crime syndicate when he suggested that Hugo Chavez be executed by the American forces.

Now we are hearing from the former US Secretary for Education William Bennett who immediately sought to defend what he said about the African American babies in foetal form.

He was rightly condemned by the civil rights activist and Baptist preacher Jesse Jackson who scoffed at the family values espoused by the Grand Old Party (GOP). The long and short of the matter is this: mouth opens and something jumps out. My concern is the type of education that Mr Bennett has been teaching and is using the hypothetical means to justify abortion in order to stem the crime rate.

Even the American president, who claims to be born again, got carried away during the 2000 husting when he used obscene language on the electronic media.
