Stipend delay making nursing assistants sick
THE EDITOR: We, the nursing assistants and nursing trainees are appealing to the Minister of Health Mr John Rahael to assist us in getting our stipend(s) on time. We are made to wonder every month-end if or when our stipend would be paid. When asked, the staff of the accounts department at the ministry are very aggressive towards us, and make only promises. Many of us live as far as Sangre Grande depend on the stipend for transportation. If we miss classes due to lack of transportation funds, we are not allowed to sit Nursing Council exams. So we are between a rock and a hard place. Please help us, Mr Minister. MARLENE GEORGE Maraval
