Captain Manning playing offside
THE EDITOR: Political leader of the PNM, Patrick Manning played a court jester role at the recent annual party/CEPEP convention. Mr Manning spent a lot of time attacking Jack Warner causing one to get the distinct impression that he was making a play to be included in the TT World Cup Football to Germany next year. Manning must realise that a footballer must have skills to pass the ball, not the buck. He attacked everyone in the UNC including the hapless player on the bench Adesh, but was clever enough not to tackle his tag team clown. Monkey really know what tree to climb.
Indeed, the spectators are looking on at the set plays. Manning dummy plays focused on the infighting of disorganised Team UNC, apparently with two captains and thus no game plan while cleverly sidestepping issues. He took free kicks at the UNC while deftly passing over grapevine news that one of his foreign scouts is to be charged with perverting the course of justice. Captain Manning is also hoping that the 365, and counting, yellow cards his team got for the year will be wiped out at the beginning of next year, but no one is likely to forget the ineptitude of two of his defensive players, Martin Elmer Fudd and Howard the Duck.
