Marijuana like wild bush in Morvant
THE EDITOR: I am writing to report about the spiralling drug trade in my village of Mon Repos Road, Morvant. It seems marijuana is not longer illegal. Every day you pass up or down Mon Repos Road, you must see someone with marijuana. From the old to the young, CEPEP workers to contractors, school children (primary and secondary), PH drivers, church goers, police officers and army officers are getting involved with marijuana. Imagine a PH driver would pick up passengers with marijuana in their possession. My main problem is this. I find that the drug trade has reached too close to my home. There is a shed occupied by two teenagers. A boy and a girl, they have a baby child and every day and night people would be constantly coming to buy marijuana from them. Their parents know this. Their parents also deal drugs. What annoys me, they would hide their marijuana in my yard. They do not talk to me. Also they steal my fruits. They also provide seats for their friends who push drugs, sometimes which are in my pathway. A day I was at home I saw them at my neighbour’s house. The youths were with their fellow drug pushers. People from all over the area were going in and out of the house. They were smoking, liming, buying and selling marijuana. Something needs to be done as quickly as possible. My problem is not who is involved in marijuana. Once they trespass on my property something has to be done. Imagine a pusher will steal a pusher’s weed and look at me suspiciously as if I did it. All they are depending on is sale of marijuana. If this continues, we are in big trouble. I ELL Morvant
