Two killed in Cocorite and Belmont

The two killings pushed the murder toll to 202 for the year thus far.

Reports revealed that at about 7.45 am yesterday, a man was walking through a track at Powder Magazine, Cocorite when he saw the bullet-riddled body of Ryan Small in bushes.

Police from the Homicide Bureau along with the District Medical Officer went to the scene and the body of Small of Cocorite Terrace, was removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

No motive was established for the killing.

Police believe that Small was shot dead shortly after midnight on Friday.

The other killing took place in the Belmont district on Friday night.

At about 11 pm, a group of men were liming at the corner of Belmont Valley Road when a white wagon pulled up and occupants of the car began firing at the men.

Jamal St Rose, 24, Trevon Jack, 21, Nigel Caesar, 35, Anton Samuel, 25, suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where Samuel died on arrival.

Police believe that the killing was carried out by members of a gang.
