Scrunter for Renaissance Wednesdays at 51 Degrees

Avant Garde Management Limited in collaboration with 51 Degrees Lounge, sponsors Hennessy, Carib Pilsner, Yellow Tail Wine and Patron Tequila have come together to introduce the Renaissance Wednesday showcase.

The event will be held on the last Wednesday of each month at 51 Degrees and is set to feature a unique mix of indigenous future talent paired with the most formidable local names in the fields of music, fashion, comedy and visal arts. Avant-Garde Management is a relatively new, dynamic event management and promotional services company that consist of a team of young professionals who possess more than a decade worth of experience in the field of local entertainment.

Wayne Richards, director of AVGM said, “People say all the time that our culture is dead or is dying with the emergence of the Internet, the proliferation of foreign music and film that we are seemingly bombarded with. They say that we are basically losing our local art forms. I also hear constant talk about Trinidadians not supporting our own. Yet we don’t make the effort to take proactive steps during the course of the year to support and nurture our local artists.”

The premiere of Renaissance Wednesdays tomorrow beginning at 9 pm will be an exclusive mini concert featuring a pair of live, intimate performances from one of the most popular artistes in Trinidad and Tobago at this time of year – Scrunter – as well as a group of emerging charismatic performers in Makamillion and the Millionaire Family. Besides supporting local emerging and existing artists, Renaissance Wednesdays creates an opportunity for sponsors and patrons to fulfill their social responsibility as part proceeds from each event will be donated to several dedicated charities.
