Red Bull Flugtag lands in Trinidad

Creative flying enthusiasts, adrenaline junkies are invited to submit their designs to participate in the inaugural Red Bull Flugtag in the Caribbean.

Forty teams will be chosen to fly off a 30 foot ramp in their mad made crafts in the hopes of impressing the celebrity judging panel. Prizes will be given out for flight distance, creativity and showmanship. Teams must be composed of five players, including a pilot who must be over 18 years of age.

All flying machines must be entirely human powered and not contain any external energy source or stored power. Crafts must be less than 30 feet wide and must not weigh more than 450lbs which includes the pilot.

Application forms are available at www.redbullcaribbean.com with the registration process closing on April 15.

The world’s first Red Bull Flugtag took place in Vienna, Austria, in 1991. Since then, more than 90 Red Bull Flugtag events have been held around the world, from London to New York, attracting up to 300,000 spectators per event. The record for the farthest flight to date currently stands at 207 feet, set in 2010 at Red Bull Flugtag in Minneapolis, United States.
