Archers stage national championships


THE Trinidad and Tobago Target Archery Federation (TTTAF) will stage their National Indoor Championships on February 19 at Presentation College, Chaguanas.


The results of the first round of shooting will also be included in the Multi-site Indoor Championships of the Americas.


Local archers will be competing against archers from North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean as each country hosts their leg of the tournament.


Archers will shoot sixty arrows at 18 metres in the Qualifying Round commencing at 10 am.


Participants will be seeded in order of their totals after which there will be an Olympic Round, which consists of elimination matches. This progresses until the champion in each category is determined.


There will be two general categories, the Compound Bow Category and the Recurve Bow Category.


There will also be a Junior/Beginner and Intermediate Categories for archers new to the sport.
