Merry leads TT to junior golf championships

CAPTAIN of the National Junior Golf team Simon Merry and recent addition to the Republic Bank-sponsored team Dahomey Kadera are currently fine-tuning their game for the Caribbean Junior Golf Championships in the Bahamas from July 6-11.

Here are profiles — SIMON MERRY: Appointed captain of this year’s National Junior Golf team. Could be considered a veteran having represented Trinidad and Tobago on eight prior occasions, and placed fourth in last year’s championships in the Cayman Islands. He was the overall winner at the recently-completed Republic Bank Trinidad and Tobago Junior Golf Open with scores of 72, 68 and 74.
DAHOMEY KADERA: Has been playing golf since the age of eight. He has a six handicap and his best score at Moka to date has been 72. Kadera represented Trinidad and Tobago for the first time at the Junior Golf Championships in the Cayman Islands, and has participated in the Optimist International Tournament which took place in Florida.
