‘Fed up’ man takes his life

A CHARLIEVILLE man, who was found frothing through the mouth Friday evening, reportedly  told a relative that he drank poison because he was fed up of his life. A short time later the man was pronounced dead at the Chaguanas Health Facility. Police reports indicate that around 8.35 pm Friday Hassan Omar Ali, who lives at Caroni Savannah Road, Charlieville, with his father Hanad Omar Ali, went to the back of their home where he saw his father frothing from the mouth.

Hassan, 21, asked his father what happened and Hanad reportedly told his son that he had drank poison because he was fed up with his life. A report was made to the Chaguanas CID and Hanad, 54, was rushed to the Chaguanas District Health Facilities by the EHS where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  Doctors at the Chaguanas Health Facility discovered that he had drank gramoxone. PC Harvey of the Chaguanas CID is conducting the investigation.
