TT beauty weds Jamaican beau

MISS Trinidad and Tobago 2002, Nasma Ayesha Mohammed, 26,  who went on to represent this country at the Miss Universe 2002 pageant, yesterday got married to Jamaican born Alexander Valentine Chin. The lavish wedding reception was held at the swank Paria Suites, South Trunk Road, La Romaine. The function was  attended by more than 200 guests including close  friends of the former beauty queen, whose religion is Islam. One Imam reminded the couple to “see marriage not as a burden but as a duty to the one for  whom you care and love.”   

The newly wed Mrs Mohammed Chin looked radiant and stunning in her white gown and, as is typical of beauty queens, wore a tiara yesterday. Her groom who is 31 years old was decked off in a black  suit and white tie. As the happy couple proceeded outdoors after the end of the reception, they were greeted with a barrage of anxious photographers and well wishers. Speaking to Newsday, Mrs Mohammed Chin, wearing a broad smile, said she  was “looking forward” to her new life and  felt “really very excited about this.” The groom, short on words, could only muster enough words to say he felt, “great and happy.” On Tuesday the couple will fly out to Las Vegas for a week-long honey moon.
