Shot man testifies in Red Fete murder inquiry
FOLLOWING two adjournments due to a prolonged illness, attorney representing the State in the Outrageous in Red Fete murder inquiry, Tricia Hudlin, was back out again yesterday as the inquiry resumed. With the resumption of the trial, the testimony of one of the men who was shot at the party continued. Twenty-two-year-old Ryan Solomon, of Edinburgh, Chaguanas, continued giving evidence into the murder of his friend, 18-year-old Kevin Kato.
Solomon sustained a gunshot wound on January 25 at the Pier 1 fete. His friend, Kevin Kato, of Chin Chin Road in Cunupia, was shot dead at the same party. Yesterday, attorney Hudlin, after questioning Solomon, was followed by defence attorney Pamela Elder SC, who is representing accused PC Dave Burnett. Burnett, of Upper St Barb’s Road in Belmont, was charged with the murder by Snr Supt Errol Denoon of the Port-of-Spain CID. The matter, which is being heard before Chief Magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls, will continue tomorrow.
