25 arrested in police exercise

Twenty-five persons were arrested in an early morning police roadblock exercise in the Chaguaramas area  yesterday — 22 for traffic offences, two with possession of narcotics and one for possession of a dagger. The exercise coordinated by Senior Supt Lennox Gonzales, which included Sgt Stephen Ramsoobhag, Cpl Hayden Hernandez and Constables Roger Mitchell, Vanessa Gonzales and John Reid was conducted between the hours of 10 am and 1pm on the busy Western Main Road. Persons were issued tickets for non-use of seat belts, no driver permits, no insurance and defaced number plates. The persons charged for possession of drugs will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today.
