Chamber bemoans kidnapping of child

THE South Trinidad Chamber of Industry and Commerce has expressed outrage over the kidnapping of three-year-old Saada Singh from a Vistabella pre-school on Thursday, and also expressed solidarity with the national community over the spiralling crime rate which has now “sadly seeped into the life of our young and innocent citizens.” The Chamber is once again calling for improved management structures to be put in place in the Police Service.

“The Chamber strongly believes that improved restructuring and management of the Police Service is critical to arresting criminal activity,” a Chamber release stated. “Furthermore, the police must be given the requisite tools and technology to effectively combat crime.” Kidnap victim Saada Singh’s grandfather, Mike Singh, is the managing director of Compression and Power Services and, according to the Chamber release, is a former council member of the Chamber “and continues to be a dedicated and active member of the South Trinidad Chamber of Industry and Commerce.”
