Police expect more murders in Laventille

FOLLOWING the fatal shooting of two rival gang members Jensen Smith, alias “Goatman,” and Oba Daniel on Tuesday evening in Prizgar lands, Laventille, Besson Street police officers are bracing for more murders in the area. According to police sources the two deaths have caused great anger and the members of the two gangs are now going after each other. “Hours after the killings we learnt that there were several unreported shootings among the rival gangs all related to that particular shooting. “We also learnt that execution orders have been given by both gangs.”  

According to reports, Daniel, 20, was driving through Prizgar Road, Laventille around 4.30 pm on Tuesday evening, when he spotted rival gang member Smith, 26, liming in the area. Daniel jumped out the car and started shooting, and Smith returned fire. When the dust was cleared both were lying bleeding on the ground. They were both rushed to the PoSGH where they died within seconds of each other. Now the gang members have decided to shoot it out for the control of the Prizgar Lands hills. Police sources told Newsday they will be doing everything to prevent a gang war and will arrest anyone who wants to start one.
