City Police gets new chief
The Port-of-Spain City Police has appointed, Leeroy Stephens as assistant superintendent, effective June 29, by the Statutory Service Commission. Stephens, now head of the Port- of-Spain City Police, is responsible for the direction and control of the unit, currently operating with 69 police officers. Stephens, a 33-year veteran of the Port-of-Spain City Corpora-tion, became a constable after police training, and worked his way up to the rank of assistant superintendent. Stephens hopes that he can help the Port-of- Spain Corporation in “achieving its vision and mission,” and deliver the service that is “expected.”
